Yoga with instructor: Jo Mason

Yoga, meaning ‘union’ in Sanskrit is a physical and mental practice aimed at strengthening the body, calming the mind and helping us to reconnect to our soul. Ultimately with the practice of yoga brings union of the body, mind and soul.

Asanas (or postures) are used to open up the body, creating strength and toning the muscles. Deep, full breathing is encouraged throughout the class to bring new oxygen/nutrients to the body and awakening the mind.

What can I expect from a class?

Each class goes for one hour; approximately 50 minutes of asanas and 10 mins of relaxation at the end of class to calm the mind. The asanas are usually taught in flowing sequences. Each week is different. Some postures can be quite strong; however there will always be a modification for beginners. You can expect to leave the class feeling energised and refreshed, but calm and relaxed.
