Whats the best part of your job / profession? "Educating the community. Passing on the knowledge, creating a plan to make it acheiveable and seeing my patients take their health into their own hands. " What would be the most common problem you see on a daily basis? "Underlying anxiety and emotional state play a big part in many of my patient’s health problems. As a result I see a lot of immune, hormonal and digestion imbalances. " |
Sophie has been a practising Naturopath since 2007. She does her best work in treating gut, hormonal and mood disorders. However her passion is working with endurance athletes, children and chronic fatigue patients.
Excited about exploring creative and fun ways to inspire her patients to eat wholefoods, she encourages everyone to use food as their medicine in both prevention and recovery. Since coming to Natremed Sophie (alongside Emma Cavalier) has taken on an active role in furthering the education of her patients in more practical ways by designing and running workshops and cooking classes at Natremed and in the wider community.
She sees excellent short term results through her herbal, nutritional prescriptions and combines these with Bowen Therapy. However it is the long term diet and lifestyle changes that really do the magic!
She runs workshops with local community groups and her corporate clients over the years have included Shepparton Council, Tatura Milk, various schools and sporting groups. In 2010 she began a weekly food and nutrition column with the Shepparton Weekend Life (shep news), so as to give everyone in the community the oppotunity to make healthy food choices.
Outside of work Sophie likes to keep active with yoga, running, and skiing. Sophie loves creating and sharing meals with her friends and family and believes "There is nothing that a good laugh and a long sleep can not help cure!"
Sophie is an empathetic and energetic practitioner, who is dedicated about encouraging you to acheive your health goals.
