Whats the best part of your job / profession?

Helping people to have less pain and muscle tension, move more freely, and feel more motivated towards their activities of daily living. It’s really rewarding to see progress and the relief in someone who has been living with chronic pain.

What would be the most common problem you see on a daily basis?

Headaches, back/neck/shoulder pain and tension, alongside stress and fatigue.

Paris joined the team at Natremed at the beginning of 2010. She now divides her time between Natremed and a multi-modality clinic in Richmond.

Paris is a Musculoskeletal and Remedial Massage Therapist, able to treat a range of musculoskeletal complaints including headaches, neck and back pain, tendinitis, bursitis, postural dysfunction, sporting injuries, and stress induced tension. She has a particular interest in stress management, including relaxation treatment and educating her patients on how to manage stress.

Paris graduated with her Bachelor of Health Science (Musculoskeletal Therapy) in 2008, already having experience in the massage industry with her Remedial Massage qualification. Paris uses a variety of manual treatment options including various massage techniques, myofascial release, muscle energy techniques, trigger point release, gentle joint mobilisations and stretching. Paris is also trained to use Cupping Therapy and Myofascial Dry Needling when appropriate.

Since February, Paris has been very fortunate to spend time observing the work of Greg Munro, gaining an understanding of Naturopathic principles and learning new treatment options including some Bowen Therapy techniques, Frequency Specific Microcurrent Therapy and some visceral/abdominal organ mobilisation techniques. Paris can also use Bioimpedance Analysis (also know as VLA) to assess and analyse your body’s fat to muscle ratio, toxicity levels, hydration levels and determine the rate that your body is aging.

Paris also holds a certificate in Swedish Relaxation Massage and offers 45min or 60min treatments.

Paris has a passion in promoting good health through healthy eating and an active lifestyle. In her spare time she enjoys swimming and keeping fit at the gym, as well as reading, craft and perfecting the art of chai tea making!

What to expect in a consultation

During your first visit a thorough history taking and discussion about your presenting issues/concerns will occur, as well as a physical observation/examination of postural patterns and range of motion. Some tests might also be preformed to further determine what’s going on.

Your treatment will be a pleasant and comfortable experience tailored to your individual complaint, leaving you feeling much more relaxed with a decrease in pain and tension. Often results can be very fast, but depending on your complaint, repeat consultations or a referral to other health practitioners who may be complementary to Paris’ work will be an option. As a result of our fast paced, busy lifestyles we are constantly putting our minds and bodies under tension. It is very common for people to have regular ‘maintenance treatment’ simply to help with their general health and wellbeing.

Paris is available for appointments Monday to Wednesday at Natremed.

Paris is a member of the AAMT, and rebates are available through most private health funds.
