Naturopath / Herbalist
Emma is a local Goulburn Valley girl originally from Dookie. She became interested in natural medicine while seeking help for her own health concerns. Both Gregory and Melynda Munro were such an influence for Emma’s health that she was inspired to study natural therapies herself. After returning from a short trip to the Amazon jungle in Ecuador, Emma knew she wanted to study plant medicines and their use in modern medical practice.
Emma studied at the Australian College of Natural Medicine in Melbourne, and completed a Bachelor of Heath Science (Naturopathy). You may recognise Emma from the reception or dispensary of Natremed as she has worked in this capacity for 4 years.
She is an excited new practitioner who has a particular interest in integrating traditional medicine with the best of medical science. Due to Emma's recent training she is very aware of the latest research and developments in both western medical science and natural therapies. Her passion is for herbal medicine and she enjoys growing and making her own remedies. Much of Emma's work with her patients is focussed on dietary analysis and helping patients to use the food they eat everyday as their medicine. Emma is also passionate about educating her patients about how they can further their own health and wellbeing. She enjoys speaking for community groups and organisations, and is an interactive and passionate speaker. Emma is particularly interested in helping patients to reduce side effects from pharmaceutical medications by the use of herbal and nutritional medicines . This is an exciting new area of natural therapies, which is sure to grow in the years to come. Emma values each of her patients as individuals, and is always open to helping them with their unique health concerns. She is excited by new patients and feels challenged to find them optimum solutions to their problems.
