I am setting myself a challenge. To learn the art of one slow cooked meat dish every week until it warms up. I am reading a book called the ‘Vegetarian and the Butcher’. About a girl who grew up in a vego household, but was eventually required to eat some meat for her health. She is dared by her butcher to learn to cook her way along the entire meat counter. I figure that if a once full blown vegetarian can master it, then so can I.

Gardening brings us a greater connection with our planet, and through loving and accepting what is: be it our body, the weather, the flies, the weeds or the flowers, a greater feeling of oneness and peace arises.

Autumn in the Goulburn Valley is a great time for gardening. The sun is warm enough to give us a bit of Vitamin D before winter, and cool, overcast days allow new plants to spread their roots into the warm earth. This gives them a great start for growing through next summer’s heat.
